UPDATE ON TAMPA BAY BLUES FESTIVAL
We provide this update on the status of the Tampa Bay Blues Festival, as we attempt to keep our friends and fans fully informed. As you know, due solely to the Coronavirus health restrictions, we are required to reschedule the festival for April 9, 10, and 11, 2021.
We have been working diligently to manage this challenge and are pleased to announce that our 2020 artists have agreed to return to perform in April 2021. We have had booking commitments from Aaron Neville, JJ Grey & Mofro, Jimmie Vaughan, Ronnie Earl, The Proven Ones, Mindi Abair, Kingfish, Rod Piazza, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Jason Ricci, Dawn Tyler Watson, Backtrack Blues Band, Danielle Nicole, and Bruce Katz. The goal is to provide the same event as was advertised in 2020, including the Kick-Off Party at the Palladium with Kingfish and the After Shows
We apologize for any hardship that this rescheduling has caused you. We truly value your business and support. Given all of the factors, and the persistent uncertainty as to when health conditions will be safe again, we felt this was the best option for the majority of our fans.
All ticket and VIP passes will be fully honored. We will also assist in processing your sale of tickets or VIP passes to others if you cannot return. New tickets and VIP vouchers will be delivered to you well prior to the festival. We remain committed to bringing you the same high-quality event as was originally advertised, when the conditions improve next April. These “no refund” policies, when the event is rescheduled, are clearly noted on our “Ticket Information” language on our website and was a condition of every online sale through Etix.
We wish we had the time and staff to communicate with each of you separately, but our festival office is closed due to the quarantine. We are a small, non-profit foundation and are focusing our efforts on salvaging the event for next year. We don’t have the kind of financial depth to absorb all the advance marketing expenses, pay all the band deposits, maintain our existing contracts, and refund all purchases while having no operating revenues from the actual event. There’s no government “bail out” for us like the big corporations are getting. We have to save the festival ourselves. And that’s what we’re doing - with help and understanding from our supporters.
We wish you all the best until we meet again. We hope to see you on April 9, 10 & 11, 2021, in St Petersburg, Florida.
